Welcome to the web site of the St. Edward School
9th Annual Golf Tournament. This site was created to promote the tournament
within the Corona Business and Residential Community, and, of course, to
all those interested in playing golf on a great course.
Mission Statement
The St. Edward's Open Golf Tournament was started to help raise
funds to replace classroom buildings destroyed in an arson fire in the spring
of 2001. Thanks to the success of the tournament in November 2001, construction
of the new facilities was completed in time for the 2002-2003 school year.
Whereas other large cities in the Inland Empire, such as Riverside and
San Bernardino, offer several Catholic schools, St. Edward's School is the
only Catholic school in the fast growing Corona-Norco region, and is heavily
dependent on private donations. Serving a combined population of over 150,000,
St. Edward's is also the largest school in the Riverside/San Bernardino
diocese, instructing over 600 students every year. Although the building
was completed for the 2002-2003 school year, a major portion of the debt
still exists and new equipment must continue to be purchased. In light of
this, we continue our fund raising efforts and are proud to announce the
Third Annual Saint Edward Open.
It is the generosity of the tournament's corporate and private sponsors
that make this possible, and for this, we thank you.
